USE OF UACC's LOGO Use of the UACC's logo is limited to those members of the UACC Registered Dealer program. Other members wishing to use our logo must secure written permission from the UACC Board of Directors. This applies to any and all UACC copyrighted material as well. Violation of our copyright is a federal crime and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
IMPORTANT UACC INFORMATION The UACC often receives e-mails from potential buyers of items from UACC members. Typically, the UACC member will advertise on their site, or on Ebay that they are a "UACC member." While there is nothing wrong with this it sometimes creates a misperception. The tone of the received emails is an implication that if that person is a UACC member than the item MUST be authentic. This is not correct! Anyone can become a UACC member simply by applying and paying their annual fees. A UACC member who is selling items may not use the UACC logo and do not necessarily adhere to the same rules as "Registered Dealers." Some of the emails ask whether a particular seller is a "valid UACC member." While we are happy to answer these inquiries--this still is no guarantee of authenticity. An autographed item may be authentic whether the seller is a current UACC member, a past UACC member, or has no association whatsoever. This mix-up often occurs because of the misperception of "members" versus "Registered Dealers." Registered Dealers are sellers that must have been UACC member for a minimum of 3-years and have received recommendations from other dealers attesting to their character. By becoming a Registered Dealer these individuals agree to abide by the UACC's rules and ethics. They also pay a higher fee for this affiliation. Another often asked question borne out of confusion is why a member's name does not appear on the UACC website? The UACC does not put member's names on the website. We DO put up ALL Registered Dealers. So if you are looking for the name of a member and NOT a Registered Dealer you will not find it on our website. Regardless of whether a seller is a member or a Registered Dealer the UACC still encourages all collectors to do their own homework and learn the basics of authenticity. While Registered Dealers prescribe to a higher, accountable standard and you should feel more secure with a purchase from one of these dealers---remember, we are all still human. Members, Registered Dealers and non-UACC collectors alike can ALL make mistakes.
